A jewelry store in Gloucester, MA has publicy posted the shop’s policy of refusing service to those that support President Donald Trump.
The sign is fixated to the window of Donna’s Infinite Variety of Adornments, or DIVA for short. It reads, “If you support Trump, please shop elsewhere. We support people (except for Trump and his minions) of all races, origins and preferences. We also support animals, the environment and the truth. We also believe that every human is entitled to healthcare, education, shelter and food. We do not support guns and violence.”
DIVA owner Donna Soodalter-Toman, a Gloucester transplant originally from Needham, received media attention in January 2017 when she and two other Massachusetts women filed a petition to block the innaguration of Trump.
The petition was first rejected by the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston, allowing the ladies to go directly to the Supreme Court, who refused to hear the case.
A photograph of DIVA’s sign was posted on Twitter this week by Laurie Gatta. Response to the posting has been harsh, but not just on Twitter. DIVA’s Yelp score has been downgraded to just one star. One Yelp reviewer wrote, “Rude owner, witnessed her yelling at a group of people because someone in the group had a MAGA hat on. Cheap items I could get at Salvation Army or Goodwill . Steer clear.”
Ending hate and discrimination by redefining who it is okay to hate and discriminate against. That’s the Klassy high road.
They keep saying they respect “all”, but I do not think it means what they think it means.

I think generations before ours were much wiser….simple rule they almost always stuck to: don’t talk politics or religion. We could prob learn something from this.
