David Hogg quickly catapulted himself to becoming the face of the left-wing anti-gun movement in the wake of the Parkland shooting, but it appears Hogg opted for the protection of armed men during a recent public appearance in New York.

According to The Daily Mail, Hogg was seen with an entourage of publicists and armed security as he and his sister Lauren headed to a Barnes & Noble bookstore on June 20 to promote their new book #NeverAgain: A New Generation Draws the Line.

Sean Di Somma snapped photos of the young activist and posted them on Twitter.

The tweet was met with hundreds of comments, including a reply from Hogg himself that read, “Love you too.”

The Daily Mail reports Hogg nor the association he is closely associated with March For Our Lives responded to requests for comment about the young man’s use of armed security guards.
