Rep Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is at it again. The freshman Congresswoman appears to have made another ourageous claim regarding climate change. This time, eluding the entire city of Miami may vanish in a few years.

“What is not realistic is not responding to the crisis — not responding with a solution on the scale of the crisis,” she said. “Because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years. That’s not realistic. So, we need to be realistic about the problem.”

The not so clear statement about Miami was made at an NAACP event on Wednesday, where Ocasio-Cortez addressed critics of her “Green New Deal.”

The Green New Deal was introduced to Congress in February. She touted the legislation as the “solution” for what she calls a climate change crisis.

A recent analysis by the American Action Forum estimates the initial 10 year cost of the Green New Deal would be a staggering $93 trillion. Some argue that estimate is high, but even if the numbers were half that amount, Ocasio-Cortez’ Green New Deal would still cost more than all the money that exists in the world today.
