CNN Producer ‘Comfortable’ Not Covering Hunter Biden Emails, Says Giuliani Not Credible Source

A CNN producer blasted journalists at the New York Post, claiming they are not a “bastion of credible journalism,” and described former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as not being a credible enough source for CNN to report on explosive charges that tie former Vice President Joe Biden and son to shady dealings in Ukraine.

“The NY Post reported a story based on information provided to them by Rudy [Giuliani] and [Paul] Manafort, who have a past history of fraud and misleading people,” CNN’s Jay McMichael wrote in a Facebook comment.

The explanation came during a public Facebook exchange with Top Conservative publisher E. Brian Rose.

“It would be like writing a piece about Trump based on info provided by Donna Brazile and Podesta that was fed to them by a country that had an interest in Hilary winning,” McMichael wrote. Rose then reminded McMichael of past CNN coverage. “You just described the round the clock coverage of the Russian Dossier… a fake document that was paid for by someone who had an interest in Hillary winning,” Rose replied.

McMichael, who is an Emmy award winning photojournalist and producer for the network, continued, “Not to mention, the information they fed the NY Post was allegedly provided to them by Russians.”

But that is not the case. The emails released earlier this week by the New York Post were originally obtained by a Virginia computer repair company, not Russian operatives. Copies were then given to the FBI and Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.

The emails revealed a meeting between then Vice President Joe Biden and executives from Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company that paid Biden’s son, Hunter, north of $50,000 per month, despite him not having any experience in the sector.

A few months after the alleged meeting, Joe Biden famously pressured the Ukraine president to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the firm where his son worked, threatening to withhold one billion dollars in US aid if the prosecutor was not fired within hours.

“I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion,” Biden recalled during a 2019 panel that aired on C-Span. “I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch, he got fired.”

McMichael went on to lambaste his colleagues at the New York based newspaper. “I’m pretty comfortable with our decision not to run that piece and holding up the NY Post as some bastion of credible journalism is pretty comical,” he wrote.

In his closing comment, McMichael described the Republican Party as “hostile,” while telling readers, “If you want to whine about Hunter Biden, take it to your Republican representatives, who held power, investigated, and four years later haven’t done a thing about anything they claim they found.”

According to Newsbusters, CNN had not made any mention of the explosive story broke by the New York Post last week.

McMichael often defends the actions of his network, while offering links to articles critical of President Trump via his personal Facebook account.
