CNN’s Jim Acosta Shouts At President, Turns To Twitter For Sympathy

CNN’s Jim Acosta turned to Twitter to gain sympathy over being ignored by President Donald Trump on Friday, but his plea for encouragement backfired.

Acosta tweeted, “I tried to ask the president if he would stop calling us the enemy of the people. He did not respond.” A reasonable person might think Acosta asked the question during a press conference or another instance where the president would be taking Q and A.

But that was not the case.

President Trump held a formal gathering at the White House to commemorate the six month anniversary of his signing the tax cut bill. He also took a few moments to give remarks regarding yesterday’s shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis.

At the end of Trump’s speech, Acosta, who was standing at the back of the room, began shouting , “Mr. President, will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people?”

He shouted it again. And again.

The shouts came at the conclusion of Trump’s speech and it was unlikely the president was able to hear Acosta over the applauding crowd. A gentleman standing in front of Acosta can be seen politely shushing Acosta during the outburst.

Acosta’s tweet has garnered nearly 7,000 comments, which is much more than what he is used to getting on Twitter, but many of those comments were from people pointing out the absurdity of Acosta’s actions.
