The man who played “Meathead” on Archie Bunker says the latest indictments of 12 Russians makes it “crystal clear” that President Trump conspired with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.

Last week, the Justice Department announced the indictments of a dozen Russian operatives who are said to have hacked DNC computers. Despite not containing any allegations to back up his accusation, Hollywood director / actor Rob Reiner says it is a smoking gun for the investigation into the president.

“It is now crystal clear that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia in the attack on our Democracy, Reiner posted on Friday. “At this point the only way Trump can avoid the consequences of his crimes is to invoke the Moron Defense. ‘I was too stupid to obstruct or conspire.’ VOTE!!!”

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein made it clear this is not the case. “There is no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime,” Rosenstein said during a press conference announcing the indictments.

Reiner continued his baseless attack on Saturday when he tweeted, “It’s this simple: The United States of America was attacked by a foreign enemy power and our President refuses to defend us.”

In reality, it was the previous administration that allowed the these crimes to take place. Former President Obama’s Justice Department did not make any indictments relating to Russian election meddling. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has indicted more than two dozen.
