A forensic analysis of data found on a laptop allegedly owned by Hunter Biden has reportedly been determined to be authentic.

According to a report filed by the Washington Examiner, forensic experts from Maryman & Associates were hired to determine the authenticity of text messages, photos, and other data found on a copy of a laptop believed to have been owned by the son of President Joe Biden.

The firm determined “before April 2019 appears to be related to Mr. Biden, with timestamps appearing to be between 2016 and 2019,” according to the findings. “The operating system timestamps appear to be authentic, and no evidence was found to suggest that the timestamps or data were altered or manufactured.” The firm further stated there was no evidence found to indicate the data was manufactured.

The contents of the laptop were discovered by a Delaware computer repair shop owner in 2019 after Biden allegedly dropped off the machine for repair, but failed to come back for it. Shop owner John Paul Mac allegedly found the laptop to contain incriminating evidence of pay to play instances involving both Hunter and Joe Biden. Mac made copies of the hard drive and distributed them to the FBI, Attorney Rudy Giuliani, and at least one media outlet.

In a recent appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Hunter Biden discussed his well publicized crack addiction. At one point, Kimmel told Biden, “You were doing crack at places where I eat.” When the topic of the laptop arose, Biden said he does not recall whether or not he dropped a laptop off at that computer shop. “Now look, I really don’t know and the fact of the matter is, it’s a red herring. It is absolutely a red herring. But I am absolutely, I think, within my rights to question anything that comes from the desk of Rudy Giuliani. And so, ‘I don’t know’ is the answer,” Biden told Kimmel. “Certainly, there could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me, that could be that I was hacked, it could be that it was Russian intelligence, it could be that it was stolen from me.” (The entire interview can be watched below.)

He gave a similar answer to CBS News reporter Tracy Smith. When asked if it was his laptop, Biden responded, “I really don’t know what the answer is. That’s the truthful answer… It could be that it was Russian intelligence.”

However, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said in October of last year the information on the laptop in question “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.” In October of 2020, the FBI and Department of Justice have concurred with Ratcliffe’s assessment that the laptop was not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

An FBI criminal investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China remains open.
