The media continues to call her a “rising star,” but socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just keeps showing us she’s not quite the prodigy the left anticipated.

Last week, the 28 year old Congressional front-runner shocked the country when she said Israel has the “right to exist,” as if that was a debatable issue among US politicians. Ocasio-Cortez called the recent violence in Gaza a “massacre” conducted by the Israelis, even though Israeli troops were responding to firebombing attacks by Palestinian protesters.

She has since walked back her rhetoric on the Jewish state, blaming some of her social media comments on activists who were controlling her account.

But on Friday Ocasio-Cortez was the one with full control of frllow socialist Sen Bernie sander’s Twitter account.

“We’re here in Kansas City to rally for Brent Welder,” she said in a video with Sanders and Democrat Congressional candidate Welder standing by. Then, an embarrassing gaffe.

Ocasio-Cortez told Sanders’ nearly 9 million followers that she was pushing to flip the Congress seat “red,” mistakenly thinking red was the symbol for the Democratic Party.

“Gonna flip this seat red in November,” she said.

Red is the color of the Republican Party, while the Democratic Party identifies with the color blue.

After the mistake, Sanders expression noticeably changes from smiling to puzzled.
