A ten point hike in approval by Hispanic voters helped tick President Donald Trump’s overall approval rating up to 47 percent, a two point rise from last month, according to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris poll.

Despite around the clock negative news coverage from the mainstream media, Trump managed to gain favor from Republicans and Democrats, with six and four point jumps in approval, respectively. Independents lost favor to the tune of four points.

A strong economy, low unemployment numbers, and a successful summit with North Korea appear to be factors in Trump’s rising approval.

Trump has recently come under fire from media and Hollywood celebrities for his administration’s “zero tolerance” policy for those crossing the southern border illegally, but many legal Hispanic immigrants seem to approve of the President’s hard line on illegal immigration.

The official Facebook page for Latinos for Trump posted a meme on Tuesday comparing the current situation at the border to the situation under the previous administration. “1,900 children separated from parents at the border. Result – MEDIA FRENZY,” the meme states next to a picture of Trump. “89,000 children separated from parents at border. Result – SILENCE,” is written next to a photo of former President Obama. The meme finishes by stating, “This exposes the huge double-standard and media bias against Trump.”

The Latinos for Trump Facebook page currently has just under ten thousand followers.
