Video: Man Steals MAGA Hat, Throws Drink On Teen Boys

A mother’s plea to help identify the man who stole a Make America Great Again hat and threw a drink in the faces of teenage boys has led to the arrest of a Texas man.

The incident occurred at a San Antonio Whataburger in the early morning of July 4.

“His friend was wearing a patriotic hat, and this happened! It would be nice to know who he is for someone to let him know his actions are not okay! Real tough guy… approaches a group of teenagers minding their own business just having a burger! He kept his hat, too,” Patricia Spittler wrote in a Facebook post that contained a video of the incident.

The video, which has since been removed, depicted a man throwing a drink at the boys and shouting racial slurs as he walked out of the restaurant holding the red Donald Trump inspired hat.

Another version of the video appears on Twitter. “Brax” claims to be one of the teens at the table. He wrote, “So went out for a 2am snack and my friend (wearing a MAGA hat) had his hat stolen and a drink thrown in his face (and mine, you can see my arms on the left of the video).” The Brax video has been viewed nearly 9 million times since it was posted early Wednesday.

Hunter Richard, 16, was one of the teens at the table. He says the man was not provoked by any of the boys.  Richard filed a police report the following day.

According to KSAT, 30-year-old Kino Jimenez was arrested by police for the incident. The arrest warrant stated there was a brief exchange between Jimenez and the victims before the video picks up.

Jimenez was charged with theft of a person, which is a felony in Texas. His bond was set at $5,000.

Support for the boys poured in on social media, including a tweet from President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump, Jr.

“If someone can get me this young man’s information I’ll get him a new #maga hat… SIGNED by #potus!!!,” Trump tweeted.
